Snakewood, unmistakable due to its unique pattern, is one of the most expensive woods in the world. The name is derived from the black shading on a reddish brown background, reminiscent of snakeskin. The fine-pored surface of the very hard wood was elaborately polished by hand to a high gloss for this folder.
