"Food should surprise us, inspire us and find something in us that we thought we had lost long ago." So says Anthony Sarpong, one of 'the' upcoming chefs in Germany. For him, food goes far beyond satisfying a basic need - good food can make the soul glow. It's about quality, leisure, imagination and inspiration when the (world)traveled chef cooks with his team in Meerbusch near Düsseldorf. He has already been awarded a Michelin star for his culinary skills.

In his first book, Anthony Sarpong offers a very personal selection of (star) recipes that really anyone can cook. He focuses primarily on regional and seasonal products and refines them with the cooking and spice ideas he has collected all over the world. From fish (wild-caught cod with cauliflower, romaine, sunflower seeds) to meat (low-temperature-cooked pork belly with sauerkraut, pear and smoked potato) to vegetarian dishes (Jerusalem artichoke with brioche, watercress and mustard), there's something for everyone.

Anthony Sarpong's main concern as a cook and author is to awaken an awareness of good food and its proper preparation and the desire to cook for oneself. So you can surprise your guests with unusual and delicious menus!
