Firecracker and Basket Weave Damascus

In 2015, Nesmuk presented the EXCLUSIVE folder for the first time as a limited special edition for collectors. Once again, a never-before-seen damascus was created for them - more elaborate than ever: classic firecracker and basket-weave damascus, combined as steel packages arranged in a carré, fire-welded again, twisted and finally forged.
100% handmade by the Nesmuk forge. A lengthy and complicated process, which was also made particularly challenging by the types of steel used: For the extraordinary damascening, among other things, shiny white tungsten steels were chosen. Tungsten is the metal with the highest melting point, which makes fire welding by hand the supreme discipline of the blacksmith's art.

Unique handle material

These distinctive blades are held by handle scales made of hawk's eye - a rare quartz stone found primarily in South Africa and Australia.
The special thing about this quartz is that it forms only microscopically small crystals, which grow together in parallel layers and build up in layers. This is how the extraordinary colors of the stone are created, alternating between deep dark blue, gray and green, as well as the unmistakable chatoyance - the silky sheen, also known as the cat's eye effect.
