Diligence and ambition have accompanied him since the beginning of his career. After graduating as the best in his field, he first attracted attention as Karlheinz Hauser's trainee chef at the "Rookie of the Year" competition, initiated by Rolling Pin. The industry reacted and Joachim Wissler opened the door to the Vendôme pâtisserie in Bergisch Gladbach for him. Stubbornness, self-confidence and the right instinct led him back to his career origins. He took off as head pâtissier at Karlheinz Hauser on the Süllberg. As a multitasking talent, he cooked the jury and audience dizzy with his creations in the Young Wild Ones challenge and ultimately managed to win the title of Young Wild Ones 2012. After his successful forays into the broad spectrum of cuisine, he has since refocused on his true love - pâtisserie.
The crowning glory in the series of awards came in early November 2014 at the LEADERS OF THE YEAR Gala Germany at BMW Welt Munich. Rolling Pin commented: "The finalist in the sweetest category of the LEADERS OF THE YEAR is characterized by extreme precision and inventiveness and takes the ancient and delightful art of patisserie to a new level."
The aim is to make your guests happy. Chef-pâtissier Marco D'Andrea and sous-chef-pâtissier Mike Kainz work together to develop the desserts for the gourmet restaurant "Lakeside". The creation of exciting new desserts is a process that sometimes only unfolds wonderfully when they play with each other. The two have very clear ideas: They unite all their senses of taste and concentrate on the products that Mother Nature provides. They prefer to work with chocolate and always try to serve it as elegantly as possible, close to the salt content and always with a hint of acidity. "Together as a team, we create our own magic moments for our guests."
