Tobias Bätz

Tobias Bätz started his impressive culinary journey at the renowned Restaurant Rottner under the guidance of Stefan Rottner in Nuremberg. But his talent did not go unnoticed: In 2005, he was drawn to sunny Mallorca to the Tristan Restaurant under the direction of Gerhard Schwaiger, which proudly boasted two Michelin stars. There, at the young age of just 21, he quickly moved up to the position of assistant chef.

In 2008, his career path took an exciting turn when he joined Alexander Herrmann at the award-winning restaurant in Wirsberg, which was honored with a Michelin star that same year. Just one year later, in 2009, Bätz was here as executive chef alongside Alexander Herrmann. His outstanding skills earned him membership in the elite Jeunes Restaurateurs circle in 2017. And in 2019, he put the crown on it all: A second Michelin star now shone above his work.

Alexander Herrmann is not only a star chef and restaurateur, but also a cookbook author and well-known from numerous TV cooking shows. Together with Tobias Bätz, he heads the culinary team in the elegant modern gourmet restaurant of the "Posthotel" in Wirsberg, a traditional establishment of the Herrmann family. There they create creative, coherent and thoughtful dishes with a personal touch. The menu begins promptly at 6 p.m., with guests offered both a conventional and a vegetarian option, accompanied by Franconian wines. Service is courteous and professional, with chefs also involved in serving.
